Outside Sales Representative – CT/Western MA Territory
Position Summary:
A growing supplier of plumbing and heating products is seeking a self-motivated Outside Sales Representative to service customers throughout the Connecticut and Western Massachusetts region. This is a relationship-focused, field-based role ideal for a confident communicator who thrives on building rapport and driving results within the construction and mechanical trades.
What You’ll Do:
Sales & Account Management
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities in the plumbing and heating sectors.
- Build strong relationships with contractors, distributors, and other trade professionals.
- Serve as the go-to resource for clients, ensuring they receive accurate product information, quotes, and timely service.
Product Representation
- Present and promote high-quality plumbing and heating solutions from leading manufacturers.
- Educate clients on product features, advantages, and benefits.
- Stay current with new product lines and industry developments to support evolving customer needs.
Territory Intelligence & Strategy
- Monitor regional trends and competitor activity to uncover new business potential.
- Report key customer insights and sales activity through internal CRM systems.
- Collaborate with company leadership to fine-tune strategies and improve customer experiences.
Customer Support & Issue Resolution
- Handle product and service inquiries, delivery coordination, and technical issues in a timely manner.
- Work closely with distribution partners to ensure smooth order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of experience in outside sales, ideally within plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, or construction trades.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing and heating systems preferred.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Self-starter with a goal-driven mindset and a high level of accountability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
- Must be comfortable traveling locally to manage territory.
Education:
- High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or a related field is a plus.
