Key Responsibilities :

Operate drilling equipment, including rotary drills, mud rotary drills, air hammer drills, and RC drills to drill boreholes for water well systems.

Conduct pre-drilling site assessments to determine optimal drilling locations based on geological and hydrological factors.

Set up and maintain drilling rigs, ensuring proper working order and performing routine maintenance tasks.

Drill boreholes to specified depths, using appropriate drilling techniques for geological conditions.

Ream boreholes and install well casings, screens, and grout materials to protect boreholes and ensure proper well construction.

Conduct pump tests to evaluate water flow rates, pressures, and overall system performance.

Collaborate with geologists and hydrologists to collect and analyze soil and water samples.

Maintain accurate records of drilling activities, including borehole specifications and drilling progress.

Complete required paperwork and submit it to the relevant departments.

Report project progress to the Drilling Superintendent or Project Manager.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during drilling operations.

Stay updated on industry trends, new drilling techniques, and safety practices.

Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations, including the proper handling of hazardous materials.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including equipment and jobsite areas.

Supervise and train drilling assistants and helpers.

Perform preventive maintenance and repair on assigned equipment, keeping accurate records.

Conduct weekly toolbox safety meetings with the team.

Fill out daily work reports and timecards.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

Minimum of three (3) years of water well drilling operator experience preferred.

General understanding of water well pumps and drilling operations.

Vocational training or certification in drilling operations preferred.

Compensation : $45-$55 per hour, based on experience.
