Job responsibilities:
- Program and integrate Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) from platforms such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, GE, and Wago.
- Develop and review control system architecture, flow diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), control sequences, and design specifications.
- Design, set up, and conduct system functionality tests on equipment both in the manufacturing facility and at customer sites.
- Perform onsite startup, equipment validation, I/O checkout, troubleshooting, and calibration of instrumentation, including tuning of PID loops.
- Analyze risks and hazards, conducting thorough risk assessments to ensure safety and compliance.
- Develop wiring schematics, control panel layouts, and validate programming to confirm systems operate according to control sequences.
- Create and manage project documentation such as responsibility matrices, instrument indexes, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Prepare wire pull schedules and detailed scope-of-work documents for contractors involved in bidding and construction phases.
