Engineering Designer

The Engineering Designer collaborates with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to create and maintain technical drawings and plans. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and knowledge of drafting methods and engineering principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed fabrication drawings in SOLIDWORKS following industry standards (e.g., ASME Y14.5).
• Create and modify mechanical parts using SOLIDWORKS.
• Generate exploded view drawings for production.
• Draft cable drawings using Draftsight or similar tools.
• Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) in NetSuite.
• Develop and manage product specifications and test procedures.
• Update electromechanical schematics as needed.
• Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and review peer work.
• Perform testing and data collection using lab tools (meters, data loggers, oscilloscopes).
• Support rapid prototyping and other assigned tasks.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Education or training in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 2-6 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS, Draftsight, and ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
• Experience with BOMs, ECNs, and Microsoft Office tools.
• Knowledge of version control and configuration management.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow engineering best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Soldering skills.
• Experience with machine shops and CNC processes.
• Familiarity with DoD standards and military specifications for rugged product manufacturing.
• Experience developing and executing industry testing protocols.
• Background in display, computing, and peripheral products for military applications.
