OPPORTUNITY

AlpHa Measurement Solutions has a certified Quality Management System (QMS) and is looking for a talented individual to meaningfully lead and support our Quality Programs and maintain Regulatory oversight.

Our privately held company has over 100 years of liquid sensing experience, is growing, and currently employs 230 team members in Houston Texas and 115 in Shanghai China. Our global headquarters is conveniently located in Houston at the southwest intersection of I-69 and Sam Houston Tollway, just north of Sugar Land.

The Quality Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Engineering and will have the opportunity to engage directly with the entire executive leadership team of AlpHa Measurement Solutions.

Classification: Salary, Exempt, Full-Time, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and as required to maintain business momentum.

Position Summary

AlpHa Measurement Solutions is experiencing aggressive growth through a global platform expansion and recognizes a need to continuously strengthen its operational capabilities to meet increased demand and support continued growth. We have established a Quality Management System (QMS) and are looking for a Quality & Regulatory Programs Manager to lead and maintain our formal QMS as well as external Quality Programs, including ISO 9001:2015 Standard and product-specific certifications such as UL, CSA, FM, etc.

Essential Functions

  • Manages the established quality activities including Warranty, Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) metrics, process controls based upon CTQ variables, supplier quality process efforts, and other initiatives occurring in Sales and Operations that support the management of the AlpHa QMS ecosystem
  • Manages Quality Assurance team, which maintains and improves the established Quality Management System
  • Maintain, enhance, and support ISO and Regulatory data repositories AlpHa uses to document the way work is done Including AlpHa’s QMS Manual
  • Establish and train internal auditing team and the facilitation of audits in accordance with ISO 9001.
  • Work closely with external certification auditors as AlpHa’s named ISO Management Representative including coordination and development of external and internal audit schedules while communicating and managing the audits with appropriate departments and personnel.
  • Primary point of contact for product certification audits (UL, CSA, ATEX, FM etc) and follow up with associated certifying body or customer as it may apply in conjunction with the named technical expert “ATEX Authorized Person”.
  • Document, articulate, and manage post-audit Management Action Plans (MAPs) across the organization.
  • Support New Product launch activities monitoring compliance with applicable ISO and QMS product related design and development requirements, statutory and regulatory requirements, and verification requirements.

Requirements

Required Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline or similar technical degree

Minimum 5-10 years’ experience working in a Quality-related position or function

Experience with ISO 9001:2015 standard, a functioning QMS, and as an internal auditor

Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, including Visio

Excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills

Ability to train personnel across multiple levels of an organization

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, creativity, willingness to learn, and the ability to focus with close attention to detail

Demonstrated knowledge and success with continuous process improvement, problem solving techniques, and project management

Ability to influence people when planning and executing continuous improvement projects

Ability to work independently and without day-to-day supervision

Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, prioritizing based on impact and effort

Previous experience working within a business system (Oracle, SAP, etc.)

Must be comfortable working with, leading, and driving diverse team members
