What are the responsibilities and job description for the Board Operator (Part-Time) position at Alpha Media?
Alpha Media seeking a talented, professional part-time Board Operator to run programming in our Shreveport, LA market for the KOKA Gospel station. The ideal candidate must have flexible hours and be able to work when necessary. Other duties include an on-air board shift, writing news and sports stories, and recording ad copy. In other words, all aspects of local broadcasting. Computer skills are a must.
Responsibilities of this position may include the following:
- Operate on-air console and audio controls.
- Receive and screen incoming calls.
- Recording & editing ads for commercial clients.
- Conduct on-location broadcasts from other locations as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Content Director and or Market Manager.
Requirements for this position include the following:
- Knowledge of all applicable FCC rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of the EAS system and legal requirements.
- Experience in running radio automation systems.
- Ability to interact with management and staff at all levels.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and handle strict deadlines.
- Ability to troubleshoot unexpected problems and fix them quickly.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, rapidly changing culture and environment.
- Must possess strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must possess strong computer skills.
Preference may be given to candidates who have the above experience plus the following:
- Previous experience in the broadcast industry.
- Experience operating automation systems.
- Experience running radio automation systems, such as Wide Orbit.
- Experience working with WordPress, Facebook and Twitter
