COMPENSATION:
The Company offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $26.00 per hour (or more depending on experience, CDL classification status, etc.) plus overtime eligibility. Position is also eligible for company paid lodging, per diem and applicable benefit offerings subject to the standard waiting periods.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Broom Operator is responsible for operating a street sweeper truck to maintain the cleanliness of streets, parking lots, and other designated areas. This position requires a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement and the ability to operate a street sweeper truck in a safe and efficient manner. The Broom Operator is also responsible for always ensuring a safe and clean work environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate a street sweeper truck to sweep streets, parking lots, and other designated areas.
- Drive the street sweeper truck to and from job sites, following all traffic laws and safety guidelines.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the street sweeper truck and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and using caution when operating the street sweeper truck in high-traffic areas.
- Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the street sweeper truck, including checking and adding fluids, performing minor repairs, and reporting any major issues to the supervisor.
- Monitor the cleanliness of the work area and report any safety hazards or potential problems to the supervisor.
- Operate other equipment and perform other cleaning duties as assigned by the supervisor.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Class B CDL with air brake endorsement.
- Previous experience operating a street sweeper truck is a plus.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- General knowledge of basic repairs and maintenance is a plus.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and ability to report any issues to the supervisor.
- Ability to work flexible hours and weekends, as needed.
