Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Summer Camp Teacher to join our team at Alpha Montessori School. The Summer Camp Teacher will be responsible for incorporating required activities into lesson plans that support children's cognitive, emotional, and physical development. This position requires an individual who will model positive behavior, foster a fun and engaging learning environment, and maintain effective communication with children, parents, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement engaging lesson plans that promote the overall development of children in line with Montessori principles.
- Incorporate a variety of activities to enhance learning experiences in areas such as arts, crafts, music, physical activity, and more.
- Supervise and guide children during both structured classroom activities and free play, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Use positive language, interactions, and discipline techniques to encourage respectful behavior and a love for learning.
- Model positive behavior and social skills to create a nurturing environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress and any concerns.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a fun, organized, and productive camp environment.
- Ensure the classroom and camp areas are clean, organized, and conducive to learning.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required.
- Montessori training or relevant educational training/experience is a plus.
- Previous experience working with children in a classroom or camp setting preferred.
- Ability to engage with young children and facilitate both individual and group activities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for nurturing children's growth.
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a background check.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred, but not required).
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.
