Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Mortgage Closer to join our dynamic team in the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all mortgage closing documents are accurate and compliant with regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of the mortgage process, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Duties
- Review all documents for any errors and set up files for closing, 10 days prior to closing.
- Review all closing details and prepare closing documents, to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Ensure that all terms of the loan are met.
- Work with loan processors, loan officers and closing attorneys on any outstanding closing conditions required to fund the loan.
- Act as intermediary between all parties in a real estate closing transaction; communicate with borrowers, loan officers, loan processors and attorneys, to answer questions and resolve any issues.
- Coordinate delivery of the closing documents before closing.
- Coordinate the smooth running of the loan closing proceedings and ensure all loans are closed and funded in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, bachelor's preferred
- 1-3 years mortgage closing experience
- Knowledge of FHA, VA, USDA and Conventional loans
- Experience with Encompass
- Strong attention to detail and possession of solid organizational and time management skills to be able to work independently and handle multiple priorities under pressure of time constraints
- Strong organization skills
- Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to identify problems and develop procedures to resolve or correct situations
- Advanced math and calculation knowledge
- Computer proficiency and financial software experience
