Job Summary: Interacts with general contractors, co-workers, and material handlers. Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products by performing the following duties.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items.
- Assembles orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to customers and/or storage.
- Records amounts of materials or items received, or distributed, and uses a computer to enter records.
- Drives vehicle to transport items from warehouse to other locations or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills are essential for effective teamwork.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Forklift certified is a plus.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One year related experience and/or training.
Physical Requirements:
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- While performing the duties the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use arms and hands to reach. Climb and/or balance as needed.
- The job is inside but exposed to a variety of extreme temperature changes.
