We are looking for a skilled and reliable Construction Accountant with 3-5 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of financial management within the construction industry. This role is essential to ensuring accurate and timely financial tracking of all construction projects, including cost analysis, budgeting, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project financials, including tracking costs, processing invoices, and ensuring proper documentation of all transactions.
- Work closely with project managers and field teams to reconcile project budgets and update financial forecasts.
- Prepare and review cost reports, including cost-to-complete estimates and monthly financial statements.
- Handle job costing and ensure project expenses align with the approved budget.
- Process subcontractor and vendor payments, ensuring compliance with contracts and agreements.
- Maintain accurate records of project expenditures, change orders, and purchase orders.
- Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable for construction projects.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for upper management.
- Collaborate with project managers to identify and resolve any financial discrepancies or issues on projects.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to secure the necessary project supplier releases
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in construction accounting, with a preference for experience working with general contractors.
- Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, including job costing, project budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Procore, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
- Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with various project teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with construction-specific accounting systems or software.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, subcontractor agreements, and payment schedules.
- Familiarity with cost tracking and financial reporting specific to the construction industry.
- CPA or similar certifications (preferred but not required).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
