Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity (AOII) has been a pillar in the Fraternity/Sorority Life community since its founding date of January 2, 1897, at Barnard College. Since that date AOII has established chapters on over 200 college campuses across the United States and Canada and initiated more than 190,000 members. Why the Assistant Director of Extension and Chapter Growth for AOII:

As the Assistant Director of Extension and Chapter Growth (AD-ECG) for AOII, you will be a vital member in the Collegiate Experience Department by providing a customer-centric focus to various staff, volunteers, and university personnel to further the mission, vision, and core values of the organization. Along with the Associate Director of Extension and Chapter Growth and volunteer partners, the AD-ECG will ensure advancement of assigned New Chapter Development chapters from chartering through a period of development until assigned chapter(s) transition into the network structure. In addition to working with chapters in New Chapter Development, the AD-ECG will utilize their experience, leadership, and coaching skills to cultivate and foster strong recruitment support for assigned collegiate chapters to achieve recruitment and retention success. The primary focus of the AD-ECG is to develop and implement strategies for recruitment, training, and support of chapter members, as well as collaborate with other departments, volunteers, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Essential Duties or Functions:

  • Supervise collegiate chapter recruitment activities for assigned chapters by reviewing, evaluating, implementing and coaching advisors and officers on recruitment information, plans and results.
  • Strengthen recruitment practices of assigned chapters by collaborating with recruitment team members to maintain, analyze and verify recruitment statistics and assisting VPMR and recruitment advisor in administering and understanding new member surveys and member evaluations.
  • Ensure assigned chapters have attained or are working toward Panhellenic Total by advising and directing the proactive and ongoing planning of a continuous open bidding program in collaboration with the recruitment advisor and VPMR.
  • Collaborate with network teams and staff annually to determine, schedule and lead chapter recruitment visits for assigned collegiate chapters.
  • Ensure assigned chapters achieve the specific recruitment goals set forth by the Sorority’s strategic plan, chapter recruitment plans and Sorority and chapter needs.
  • Explain and ensure implementation of Sorority policies and protocols and National Panhellenic Conference Manual of Information by assigned collegiate chapters.
  • Assists the Associate Director of Growth and Development by identifying trends, assessing needs, and developing action plans in accordance with the Fraternity’s Ends
  • Communicates the goals and mission of the Fraternity to AOII’s Network Specialists of New Chapter Development
  • Provides customer service, education, and support to collegiate chapter officers and members, chapter advisors, International Headquarters staff, international volunteers, and other key stakeholders as necessary.
  • Analyzes chapter data in the areas of recruitment, retention, academics, and involvement to strategically advance chapter health.
  • Manages issues and incidents according to Alpha Omicron Pi’s Crisis Management Procedure
  • Assists with editing documents specifically used by the Department of New Chapter Development including extension packet, chartering documents, and other standardized paperwork or procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality in the execution of these responsibilities.
  • Direct or handle other special projects and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Continuously monitors assigned chartering chapters with the assistance of the Associate Director of Growth and Development
  • Partners with the Educational Leadership Consultants (ELCs) working with chartering chapters.
  • Use AOII’s Inspire Ambition program as strategy for achievement of chapter success and development.
  • Provides continuous support with officer and advisor training, while developing strategic plans to help with areas of opportunity in chapters.
  • Ability to travel to each chapter, if needed, for recruitment, general visits, or additional training throughout the year.
  • Collaborate with Properties Department when applicable on house building information communication, outreach, and developing appropriate housing policies chapters.
  • Works with collegiate chapters in submitting all appropriate forms and fees.
  • Manages incidents and issues according to Alpha Omicron Pi’s crisis management procedures.
  • Attends and facilitates at all scheduled training sessions, such as Leadership Academy, Volunteer Summit, Camp AOII, Alumnae Leadership Conference, and International Convention, as well as events hosted by the Network Team and nonscheduled events as planned/needed.
  • Develop new trainings in collaboration with the Education, Training and Events department and assist in identifying volunteer and Fraternity training needs.
  • Develop and execute strategies to generate interest in AOII.
  • Build relationships with PNMs through intentional outreach, marketing efforts, and one-on-one conversations. Manage PNM communication, including follow-ups, informational sessions, and interest meetings.
  • Oversee the implementation of AOII’s new chapter development model, ensuring all benchmarks are met.
  • Support charter members in building a positive and engaging chapter culture.
  • Coordinate educational programming to introduce members to AOII’s values, policies, and traditions.
  • In partnership with the Associate Director, you will oversee all aspects of the chartering chapter recruitment process, ensuring a smooth and successful experience.
  • Guide the newly elected Executive Team and officers through their leadership transition.
  • Facilitate officer training sessions, ensuring leaders understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship and support as chapter leaders establish governance, operations, and traditions.
  • Serve as the Primary AOII Representative On-Site while foster strong relationships with campus administrators and other Greek organizations.
  • Assist in developing long-term recruitment strategies for the chapter’s sustainability.
  • Provide hands-on recruitment support and training in the chapter’s first formal Panhellenic recruitment.
  • Guide the chapter through retention strategies to foster member engagement and long-term success.

Assistant Director of Extension and Chapter Growth must be able to Demonstrate:

  • Ability to apply develop and implement retention strategies
  • Ability to facilitate training sessions with groups ranging in size
  • Ability to scan an audience and cater messaging in the moment
  • Strong business development skills and experience conducting sales presentations
  • Strong collaboration and relationship management skills with the ability to influence others
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills with excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience developing, managing, and executing marketing campaigns
  • Experience working with or in a volunteer organization

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to effectively read, write, and speak the English language
  • Physical mobility and dexterity to transport files and operate general office equipment (telephone, fax, copier, computer, etc.)
  • Experience in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Must be able to work evening and weekend functions as necessary
  • Must be willing and able to travel
  • Membership in a Fraternity/Sorority preferred
  • Three years of relevant experience preferred 

Working Conditions:

  • Office setting based in Brentwood, TN, remote work capable
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on the computer
  • Must be able to lift up-to 15 pounds at times

Salary Range:

  • $45,000 – $52,500
