Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The following list of major duties represents a composite list of typical duties performed by individuals in this position. Specific duties performed by the incumbent will vary depending upon the facility.

  • Customer complaint administration which includes typing and distributing responses, maintaining database and files and updating and distributing pareto analysis.
  • Quarantine Administration to include maintaining database and preparing reports, maintaining quality cost database and preparing accountability reports on a daily basis.
  • Engineering Samples Administration to include: measuring product, entering specifications onto sample reports, typing completed summary reports, distributing analysis reports, maintaining sample inventory and directory and maintaining sample database and files.
  • Process Capability Analysis to include typing and updating control plans, typing and updating Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and preparing Cpk/Cp summary reports.
  • Design of Experiments (DOE) to include data entry and printouts of designs and maintenance of files and database summaries.
  • Quality Manual duties to include typing and updating revisions, maintaining index and scheduling audits.
  • ISO9000 responsibilities to include maintaining database of procedures and audit reports and assuring cross-reference of procedures/updates.
  • Responsible for training materials to include collection and indexing of materials, creating overheads, typing lesson plans and maintaining an inventory of materials and classes.
  • Responsible for quality measures to include maintaining database and producing reports and updating and distributing graphs and summaries.
  • Follow Plant specified job specification and task list.

Food Safety Responsibilities

Responsibilities & Duties:

Specific Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Provide training for food safety and quality requirements
  • Maintain documentation such as SOP’s, as well as maintenance of manuals, policies and procedures as relate to any food safety concerns.
  • Conduct facility food safety audits as well as manage third party audits.
  • Monitor and verify activities to ensure that all products coming in and out of the facility meet food safety standards in addition to quality standards
  • Update existing food safety procedures and documentation to keep up with changing requirements.
  • Assist buyers with training and educating potential suppliers to ensure compliance.
  • Work closely with Quality Manager on any food safety or quality assurance issues.
  • Oversee proper maintenance and sanitation of all facility to comply with food safety requirements.
  • Ensure that all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed and documented correctly at all times.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 1-2 years of related experience and/or training preferred
  • Experience in plastics or packaging industry a plus
  • Working knowledge of computer operating systems

The employee must frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk on concrete. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, bend or twist. The employee is occasionally required to push, pull, and/or move materials.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high level with ear protection required.
