Alpha Services is Seeking Direct support professional(DSP) will coach individuals with developmental disabilities/behavior issues through residential and work routines, provide supervision and specific training activities that assist the clients to acquire, maintain or improve skills related to activities of daily living in a community residential setting and Day program.
Responsibilities-
- Works directly with clients who have intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Report directly to Day Service Coordinator/Residential Coordinator
- Daily documentation
- Someone who can take the lead in potentially high-stress situations
- Assisting in monitoring client budget
- Successfully completes training in a timely manner
- Be able to multi-task
- Assist consumers with high behavior
- Other duties as assigned
Direct support professional Experience-
- 1 year preferred, but will train the right person
Direct support professional Specific Requirements-
- High School Diploma/or GED
- Valid Driving License
- CPR/First Aid

Duties:
- Reading, writing, and carrying out directions
- Charting or taking notes for others to review
- Providing companionship and supportive listening
- Reporting changes in the health or status of the client
- Taking vitals, height, and weight
- Feeding clients
- Maintaining patient’s health equipment
- Responding to emergency situations
- Administering medication
- Transporting client to appointments
- Facilitating community and recreational outings, including transport
- Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities
