Job description
Over the last 60 years, Alpha Southwest has grown into the largest deep-set turbine and water well contractor in New Mexico and far West Texas. Our headquarters are in Albuquerque and have supply and service capabilities for booster pumps and wells, electrical switchgear and controls, and electric motors. Alpha Southwest also maintains an operational facility in El Paso, TX.
We serve the municipal, industrial, and commercial markets and focus on major maintenance contracts that cover deep-set turbine pumps, fluid transferring booster pumps, wastewater submersible sewage pumps, and chemical dosing pumps. Our focus also extends to electrical services (control voltage up to 4160v) & instrumentation / controls, SCADA systems, flow measurement, valves, well rehabilitation and repair, and vertical turbine pump rehab and repair / replacement. In addition, ASW has fabrication and machining at both shops to support all these activities.
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven, and customer service-oriented Business Development Manager with experience in the groundwater pump and service industry. This sales position will be based in Albuquerque and will require between 40-60% travel for face-to-face meetings with clients throughout the state of New Mexico and Texas Panhandle. This position will also provide the unique opportunity to cross-sell and cross-pollinate with other Impel Company services and products that may not be in our current contracts / market. Base salary starting from $60k unlimited commission potential.
Responsibilities :
- Maintaining relationships with existing customers by providing support, information, and guidance
- Managing relationships with contractors, distributors, engineering firms, and end-users
- Successfully soliciting and securing new customers in municipal, industrial, and Indian Nation water markets
- Collaborating with the inside team : pumps, electrical, and motors to select the proper equipment
- Using pricing tools and following internal processes to secure costs for large bids and opportunities
- Learning the territory nuances and seeking feedback on the market to determine pricing strategies
- Following up on bids and opportunities to ensure customer satisfaction
- Project manage pump systems through the sales cycle from quoting to start up hand off to the operations project manager
- Scheduling and providing technical training sessions to support project design efforts
- Being available and responsive to customers in person, over the phone, via text, and through email correspondence while working through sometimes challenging problems and projects
- Continuing education of represented products, which may include traveling to the manufacturers site, attending tradeshows and conferences
- Working as part of a team, sharing knowledge, supporting each other, and striving to achieve our companys common goal of premier customer service
- Maintaining all information within our CRM system
