Job Summary
The Community Access Supervisor oversees the Community Access program and provides client supports and individualized services. These services and supports provide clients opportunities to engage in community-based socialization, education, recreation, and personal development activities. The Community Access Supervisor interacts with clients and must be familiar with the King County Developmental Disabilities Division (KCDDD) Guidelines and the Guiding Values issued by the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). At all times, the Community Access Supervisor will seek to act in accord with the principles and values expressed and uphold the agency mission.
Day-to-Day
1. Supervision of Community Access Services

Oversee the development and implementation of individualized Community Access Plans based on each client’s Individual Support Plan (ISP), skills, and interests.

Ensure client goals reflect personal preferences and are regularly reviewed for progress.

Monitor and review documentation related to goal tracking and progress updates.

Make recommendations for plan revisions to Community Access Coordinators.

Direct and support community outings and activities for clients.

Help clients access activities that reflect their goals and preferences.

Identify local people, places, and activities that align with clients’ cultures, talents, and interests for shared community involvement.
2. Provide Direct 1:1 Client Support (As Needed or Assigned)

Identify client interests, skills, and opportunities for community engagement.

Attend planning meetings with clients and their support teams.

Assist in creating individualized Community Access Plans.
3. Maintain Accurate Client Records
-
Prepare, audit, and review client records regularly to meet agency and regulatory standards.

Records may include: intake forms, case notes, discovery documents, participation logs, guardianship documentation, and plans.

Ensure documentation is objective, professional, and compliant.

Provide training or assistance with documentation standards as needed.
4. Manage Monthly Invoices
-
Complete and submit monthly invoices to KCDDD.

Conduct utilization reviews and monitor use of contracted service hours.
5. Maintain Positive Relationships
-
Foster strong working relationships with clients, families, residential providers, KCDDD, DDA Case/Resource Management, and other stakeholders.
6. Supervise Assigned Staff
-
Conduct annual staff reviews.
-
Ensure time card compliance.
-
Manage staff performance and support professional development.
7. Training & Meetings
-
Attend staff meetings, seminars, and required annual training.

Complete and maintain certifications, including:

First Aid / CPR
-
Bloodborne Pathogens
-
Mandated Reporter
-
8. Vehicle Use & Compliance
-
Use a personal or agency vehicle regularly for work-related travel.

Maintain:

A valid Washington State driver’s license
-
Up-to-date vehicle registration and insurance
-
A safe and operable personal vehicle
-
Provide a driver’s abstract every 3 years or upon request

9. Additional Duties

Perform other duties as assigned on a daily basis.

- Basic knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, resource monitoring, and coordination of people and resources
- Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders
Job Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- 4 years of management experience and 1 years of experience working in social services or human services
- Valid Washington State drivers’ license, current automobile insurance and qualifying driving record
- Background inquiry clearance from an authorized state agency
Starting Wage:
$32.60/hr
Wage Scale:
$32.60/hr - 38.20/hr
