Essential Job Functions – Responsibilities

  • Perform all functions in a safe manner adhering to established policies and procedures
  • Projects and assignments are typically low complexity where numerous precedents exist conducted under high supervision
  • Conduct instrument set-up / adjustment and/or material preparation for testing
  • Maintain instruments, tools, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition
  • Operate computer or machine controls to start/stop tests. Monitor computer screen and/or instrument to verify proper operation
  • Use tools including, but not limited to, pneumatic or manual punch press, hot knives, wire brushes, basic hand tools, picks and other instrument cleaning tools, weight scales and measuring devices
  • Maintain effective communication with engineers throughout testing process, including documentation relative to test methods, observations, data / results, etc.
  • May be required to handle hot (up to 350°C) items periodically
  • Provide support to and/or work in other departments on an as needed basis. Training will be provided.

Education – Experience – Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED required. Associates degree in a technology related field preferred.
  • 2 years of relevant experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams)
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, good communication skills (written and oral), excellent teamwork skills
  • Desire to accept new challenges and learn new tasks to grow professionally

Good level of fitness is required. This position requires frequent standing, walking, stooping, and kneeling. There is often lifting and carrying of materials up to 50 pounds. Average vision and hearing is sufficient.
