Position Summary:
The Director of Profit Participation is a dedicated, senior-level role within our sales team focused on driving the success of dealer profit-sharing programs, including retro, reinsurance, and dealer-owned warranty companies (DOWC). This role combines strategic consulting, data-driven analysis, and exceptional relationship management to enhance onboarding, growth, and retention for participating dealers. Collaborating with agents and dealers, this individual ensures that all stakeholders maximize the benefits of participation structures while adhering to industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Agent and Dealer Support:
- Partner with agents to provide tailored support for dealer clients, ensuring successful onboarding and participation in profit-sharing programs.
- Deliver training, tools, and consultation to help agents recruit and retain dealers effectively.
- Conduct on-site business reviews with agents and the sales team to enhance program performance and dealer satisfaction.
- Build strong relationships with agents and dealers to achieve shared goals and mutual success.
Dealer Onboarding and Recruitment:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training materials for onboarding new dealers into profit-sharing programs.
- Lead webinars and educational sessions highlighting the value of retro, reinsurance, and DOWC programs.
- Collaborate with agents to identify and recruit dealers, showcasing the profitability and strategic benefits of participation.
Consultation and Relationship Management:
- Design tailored strategies for dealers based on business goals, market trends, and program options.
- Build trust-based relationships with dealers and agents to ensure ongoing engagement and program success.
- Offer proactive recommendations for improving profitability, optimizing portfolios, and addressing compliance requirements.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collaborate with Operations to enhance tools and reports tracking program performance, including profitability and claims trends.
- Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to dealers, agents, and stakeholders through clear, data-driven reporting.
- Monitor performance metrics (e.g., loss ratios) and work with agents and dealers to address challenges.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Collect and integrate feedback to improve profit participation offerings and dealer/agent experiences.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive programs to identify opportunities for differentiation.
Event Participation:
- Represent the company at industry conferences and events, promoting the company's expertise in profit participation programs.
Customer Journey Optimization:
- Enhance the dealer experience with streamlined processes, clear reporting, and strong retention initiatives.
- Act as a central liaison between internal teams, agents, and dealers to resolve issues efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven expertise in automotive F&I programs, including retro, reinsurance, and DOWC.
- Strong understanding of profit-sharing structures and associated tax/compliance considerations.
- Exceptional relationship-building, consultation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% as required.
