Job Overview
Alpha Wound Care is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a minimum of two years of wound care experience and a Wound Care Certification (WCC) to join our College Park clinic. The ideal candidate must be licensed by the state and have a strong background in wound management. This role requires clinical expertise and leadership to oversee daily clinic operations, assist the medical director, and ensure exceptional patient care.
Duties
- Oversee and perform the daily operations of the College Park clinic.
Reporting Structure:
- Reports directly to the Medical Director.
Works under the guidance of the Medical Director, a burn and wound specialist, who will provide training and support.
- Assist the Medical Director with patient appointments and wound care procedures.
- Ensure efficient clinic workflow and patient management.
- Perform comprehensive wound assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Administer wound care treatments, including dressing changes, debridement, and infection control.
- Educate patients and caregivers on proper wound care management.
- Work collaboratively with medical assistants and other healthcare staff.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Follow established wound care protocols and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and patient safety standards.
- Provide training and mentorship to medical assistants as needed.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Must have a strong history of charting and completing detailed chart notes.
- Must hold a valid LPN license in the state.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in wound care.
- Wound Care Certification (WCC) is required (Applicants with this certification will be given first consideration).
- Must be currently or recently working in a clinical setting specializing in wound care OR have at least two years of wound care experience (Resumes that do not meet this requirement will not be considered).
- Strong knowledge of wound care principles, infection control protocols, and patient education.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) documentation.
