Before and After School Care Staff- Sargent Shriver Elementary School-Silver Spring MD
- 90 Hour Certificate in School Age Development and Curriculum
Here's what you'll need:
High school diploma, certificate of high school equivalency OR
- Successful completion of at least 6 credits from an accredited college or university
AND 1 year of experience working with children in an approved setting, (registered child care home, licensed child care center, nursery school, church operated school, or similar setting)OR 1 year of experience as a registered family child care provide or
- 1 year of college (30 semester hours) You will have to complete a work verification paper that is completed by their past employer
OR Combination of experience and college that equals 1 year
In addition, you will need:
- 90 Hour Certificate in School Age Development and Curriculum
- Medication Administration Certificate
- Emergency Preparedness Certificate
- Ability to motivate and engage children and manage behavioral challenges.
- Serves as a positive role model; must be enthusiastic, energetic, creative and sensitive to children.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing needs.
- Good judgement and sound decision making.
- Ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for children.
Required licenses or certifications:
- Medication Administration
- ADA
- Emergency Preparedness
- 90 Hour School Age Curriculum and Development
- First Aid and CPR

Schedule: No weekends! Part time Morning Care 6:15am-9:00am Afternoon care 3pm-6:30pm.

As an AlphaBEST Assistant Guide, you'll be trained to do the following:
- Assist AlphaBEST Guides as they lead a group of student explorers through exciting adventures in fitness, the arts, technology, and more!

- Encourage creativity and intellectual curiosity by building on students' interests and talents.
