We are currently seeking an experienced Accountant to lead finance and oversee all financial operations at our Idaho headquarters.
Position Summary:
This role will play a critical role in managing the company's financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the executive leadership team with valuable insights to drive our continued growth. This position requires at least five years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or sales organization, and an aptitude for leadership within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
- Maintain adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and ensure internal financial controls are aligned with best practices.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial data integrity.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop, manage, and analyze annual budgets and rolling forecasts in collaboration with department heads.
- Provide ongoing financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and improve the companys financial performance.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure operational liquidity.
- Assist in overseeing banking relationships and manage lines of credit, financing activities, and capital expenditures.
Cost Accounting & Inventory Control:
- Implement and maintain cost accounting systems to ensure accurate costing, especially within manufacturing processes.
- Monitor inventory accounting and ensure inventory valuations are accurate and up to date.
Financial Strategy & Planning:
- Collaborate with executive leadership on financial strategy and long-term planning.
- Identify potential areas of financial improvement, cost savings, and risk mitigation.
Audit & Regulatory Compliance:
- Oversee external audits and liaise with auditors to provide necessary financial documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including working with key financial partners on tax filings and statutory reporting.
Leadership & Team Management:
- Create processes and procedures and be able to build a customized finance team as the organization continues to grow. The team you will be able to grow needs to be professional, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure effective cross-functional communication with other departments to align financial objectives with operational goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Controller or similar role in a manufacturing or sales-driven environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite).
- Excellent analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach to financial management.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
