Job Overview :
The Account Manager is responsible for driving membership growth through proactive prospecting, outreach, and fostering a positive member experience. This role combines sales, customer service, and community engagement to cultivate strong relationships, increase membership retention, and contribute to the overall success of the gym. The Account Manager will focus on acquiring new members, supporting existing members, and ensuring a welcoming and motivating environment for all gym-goers. The role will be performance-driven, with specific KPIs tied to outreach efforts, appointment setting, attendance, and referrals.
Key Responsibilities :
Prospecting & Outreach :
- New Member Acquisition : Identify and prospect potential members through various channels, including in-person interactions, social media, phone calls, text messages, email campaigns, and community events.
- Lead Generation : Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of potential leads through networking, referrals, and local partnerships.
- Sales Presentations : Conduct tours of the gym and provide information about membership options, services, and gym amenities to prospective members.
- Follow-up : Proactively follow up with leads through calls, texts, and emails, answering questions, addressing concerns, and overcoming objections to close memberships.
Community Engagement :
Community Building : Actively engage with the local community to create awareness and interest in the gym. Build relationships with local businesses, organizations, and influencers to drive brand awareness and generate leads.Event Coordination : Organize and participate in gym events, promotions, and outreach activities that engage both potential and current members, such as fitness challenges, open houses, or health and wellness seminars.Social Media & Online Engagement : Collaborate with the marketing team to manage online community engagement through social media platforms, promoting gym events, membership offers, and success stories.Member Experience & Retention :
Onboarding New Members : Ensure smooth onboarding for new members, including introducing them to gym facilities, explaining membership benefits, and connecting them with relevant trainers or classes.Member Retention : Build strong, lasting relationships with existing members by regularly checking in, addressing concerns, and ensuring their needs are met. Track member satisfaction and proactively identify opportunities for improving the overall experience.Customer Support : Serve as the main point of contact for members for the life of their membership, answering inquiries, managing membership changes, and handling complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner.Renewals & Upgrades : Work closely with current members to facilitate membership renewals, upsell services (e.g., personal training, classes, premium memberships), and introduce new offerings to improve their gym experience.Sales & Reporting :
Sales Goals : Meet or exceed individual and team sales targets, including membership sign-ups, renewals, and upsells.Data Tracking & Reporting : Maintain accurate records of member accounts, sales activities, and follow-ups using CRM systems. Provide regular updates to the management team on membership trends and performance. Track the following KPIs :Outreach Metrics : Monitor the number of outreach attempts via calls, texts, and emails to prospective members, ensuring regular contact and follow-up.Appointment Setting : Track the number of appointments set with leads or prospective members (e.g., tours, consultations, fitness assessments).Appointment Shows : Measure the number of scheduled appointments that are attended by leads or prospective members.Referrals : Track the number of new members referred by existing members and work to increase referral rates by creating referral programs or incentives.Sales Performance : Analyze the effectiveness of outreach campaigns and adjust strategies based on performance data (e.g., conversion rates, appointment-to-signup ratios, etc.).Reporting : Regularly provide detailed performance reports, including KPI metrics, to the Sales Manager or General Manager for analysis and strategy adjustments.Qualifications :
Proven experience in sales, customer service, or account management, preferably in the fitness or wellness industry.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds.Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.Comfortable with public speaking and conducting presentations to both individuals and groups.Proficient in using CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software.Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to accommodate member schedules and events.Passion for fitness and wellness, with a desire to help others achieve their health goals.Preferred :
Experience in a membership-based business model (e.g., gym, health club, or similar).Knowledge of local fitness trends and an understanding of the competitive landscape.Experience in event planning or community outreach.Bi-lingual in SpanishPhysical Requirements :
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.Comfortable conducting tours and demonstrations of gym facilities.Ability to lift and carry gym materials or promotional items (up to 25-30 pounds).
