Job Overview :
The Assistant Retail Sales Manager supports the Retail Sales Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store, driving sales performance, maintaining store standards, and managing KPIs. In addition, this role involves conducting competitive analysis to understand market trends and position the store effectively within the retail landscape. The Assistant Retail Sales Manager will help the team achieve business objectives while ensuring excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
- Customer Service Excellence : Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service, addressing customer inquiries, and resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Sales Performance & KPI Management : Assist in setting and achieving measurable KPIs, including sales targets, conversion rates, units per transaction (UPT), and average transaction values (ATV). Track and report on individual and team performance, offering insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Competitive Analysis & Market Intelligence : Conduct regular competitive analysis to monitor local competitors, industry trends, and market conditions. Analyze competitor pricing, promotions, product assortment, and customer experience to identify opportunities for differentiation and strategic advantage.
- Use insights from competitive analysis to inform merchandising, pricing strategies, and promotional activities.
- Share findings with the Retail Sales Manager to help adjust strategies, optimize sales performance, and stay ahead of competitors.
- Staff Supervision & Development : Support and motivate the sales team to achieve sales targets and KPIs. Provide coaching, feedback, and training to enhance individual performance and teamwork.
- Monitor staff performance, providing actionable feedback, and ensuring alignment with company goals and KPIs.
- Visual Merchandising : Ensure the store is visually appealing, organized, and aligned with current fashion trends. Assist in executing visual merchandising strategies that drive sales, based on insights from competitive analysis and sales performance.
- Inventory Management : Help manage inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock availability while minimizing overstock and stock-outs. Monitor stock performance against KPIs such as stock turnover, shrinkage, and product performance.
- Operational Efficiency : Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are maintained.
- Loss Prevention : Implement and monitor loss prevention strategies to minimize theft, fraud, and stock discrepancies. Ensure compliance with store security measures and identify areas for improvement.
- Sales Reporting & Analysis : Assist in generating reports on KPIs, sales performance, and competitive insights. Analyze performance trends to recommend adjustments to sales strategies or store operations.
- Team Engagement & Motivation : Foster a positive and motivating environment by recognizing achievements, encouraging professional growth, and ensuring team members are engaged in achieving goals and KPIs.
