Position Summary :

Under the general supervision of the AVP / SR Administrator for Health Center Operations, the Assistant Director of Bella Vista Health Centers will assist in directing the day-to-day functions of the facilities in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the organization, and as may be directed by the AVP / SR Administrator for Health Center Operations, to assure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

Key Duties :

  • Assist the AVP / SR Admin with the general day-to-day operations of Bella Vista Health Center.
  • Provide supervision to the front desk staff (PSR).
  • Provide training and orientation to new associates.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of all provider vacations, educational and personal leave and inform all appropriate personnel accordingly.
  • Assist in scheduling department working hours, personnel, and work assignments as necessary or required.
  • Maintain and monitor daily & monthly schedules (providers & line staff).
  • Responsible for the Cash Collection process including daily reconciliation.
  • Follow-up on issues presented during Site Dir, Operations Sub-council, Joint Commission, Meetings and provide updates to the AVP / SR Administrator.
  • Perform weekly inspections of the facility to assure that established policies and procedures are being implemented and followed and report findings to the AVP / SR Administrator.
  • Identify and report daily operational issues including but not limited to staff and / or provider coverage and equipment malfunction.
  • Ensure that adequate supplies and equipment are on hand to meet the day-to-day operational needs of the organization.
  • Ensure that the facilities are maintained in a clean and safe manner for patients and staff.
  • Assist with the supervision and coordination of special projects including PMO.
  • Follow-up with specific outside vendors relating to operational issues including but not limited to furniture, printing, and copiers / faxes.
  • Assist in the review of vendor invoices and report delinquencies to the AVP / SR Administrator.
  • Provide coverage in vacant areas as directed by the AVP / SR Administrator.
  • Provide representation at meetings as specified by the AVP / SR Administrator.
  • Represent UHP in dealing with outside agencies as directed by the AVP / SR Administrator.
  • Function as patient advocate and assure all patient comments are processed accordingly.
  • Participate in the hiring, training of the PSR's and conduct end of year evaluations.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or related field of study.
  • 5 years of experience working in an outpatient health center or related setting within healthcare field.
  • 1-2 years of established experience managing programs, procedures, or people.
  • Bilingual Spanish / English, strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Health Records, eClinicalworks.
  • Ability to thrive with independent work and to manage time.
  • Ability to engage in conflict resolution and communicate effectively during adversity.
  • Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule :

    This position is based ONSITE in the Bronx, Monday to Friday 8am-5pm.

    Starting Compensation :

    Minimum : $70,000 annually; Maximum : $70,000 annually.
