Our Critical Care Transport team is composed of highly experienced, skilled, and seasoned critical care registered nurses who undergo extensive in-house training in critical transport evolution and methodology. Our CCT RNs are capable of providing industry leading care for patients requiring invasive mechanical ventilation, multiple medication infusions, and fetal heart tone monitoring in high-risk obstetric patients. We also can care for critical pediatric patients weighing as low as 6 lbs. We deploy the most advanced equipment and practice standards to ensure our patients are cared for at the highest level.

Summary: The Critical Care Transport Nurse (CCT RN) applies critical care knowledge, skills, and the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients during transport. Collaborates with fellow employees and hospital staff to ensure safe and effective care. Effectively communicates pertinent patient and family information to the health care team. Furthers professional growth by engaging in activities, such as clinical simulations and courses, according to the Critical Care Transport Program and the California Board of Nursing standards.

Education:
- Associate (Required)

Qualifications and Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Clinical Care
Provides exceptional and safe care to a patient during transport from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility.
Care to include but is not limited to the following: o Placement and monitoring of advanced and basic airway adjuncts
o Initiation or continuation of advanced mechanical ventilation
o Initiation or continuation of critical care medications
o Advanced hemodynamic monitoring such as waveform capnography and invasive blood pressure
Works within a transport team to stabilize, ready, and transport patients as directed by the transferring physician, medical direction, or CCT Program standards.
Collaborates in establishing patient goals with hospital and facility staff, evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.
Provides education to patients, families, and facilities about critical care transport.
Completes thorough electronic clinical documentation for each transport as required by CCT Program standards.
Adheres and follows all CCT Program Policies and Procedures.
Education
Maintains proficiency in critical care knowledge and clinical nursing skills.
Maintains proficiency in CCT Program policies and procedures.
Maintains documentation of required licensure, certifications, and continuing education.
Participates in CCT Program clinical activities such as simulations and courses.
Acts as a resource within the CCT Team and Division in providing critical care education and information as requested.
Acts as a mentor of new employees, aids in the development of new clinicians.
Community Relations
Create and maintain relationships with hospital staff to generate the utilization of AlphaOne for critical care transport services and to promote the AlphaOne brand while performing clinical duties.
Discover and report any potential opportunities and threats while providing clinical care.
Public Relations/Marketing
Become active in the community by attending health fairs, RCFE community functions, residential council meetings, town hall forums, Alzheimer walk events, B/P clinics, community stand-by events, community educational classes, skilled nursing facility integrations, and other general marketing functions with a focus on the advancement of the CCT Program and identification of critical care needs in the community.
