Located a few blocks from the Wisconsin State Capitol, AlphaTech has a high-end, sophisticated legal practice where we provide transactional and business law counsel to companies located primarily in the Upper Midwest. We work to provide our clients’ management with financial models and analysis that is used for strategic and tactical decision making.
As an option we are considering College students that might be graduating in May. In this case we would fill this position as a part-time position until June, when it will be converted to a full- time regular position at our firm.
Primary Function and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage capitalization tables and other equity related information for venture-backed technology-based companies.
- Develop pro forma analyses in connection with equity financings and company sale distribution waterfalls.
- Review and interpret organizational and transactional agreements (e.g., company charters, stock purchase agreement) to create accurate pro formas and financial models.
- Generate and maintain consistent internal financial reports and dashboards.
- Calculate and manage 401(k) company matching rates for new employees and employee deferral changes.
- Oversee 401(k) records, ensuring accurate biannual reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of company payroll, resolving any payroll discrepancies or issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with accountant on billing and invoicing.
Qualifications:
Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with advanced modeling skills.
· 2-9 years of finance or accounting work.
· Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential client information with the highest level of integrity and discretion.
Preferred:
· Working experience with accounting software, reporting, payroll systems, and 401(k) administration.
· Experience working with venture-backed companies or equity management.
· Familiarity with Carta or similar capitalization management and valuation platforms.
