Job Overview
The Family Medicine Residency Program Coordinator (PC) serves as the lead administrative person for the SMC GME Family Medicine Residency Program, spending a minimum of 70% of their time managing the day-to-day operations of the program. The PC assists the Program Director in accreditation efforts, educational programing, and support of residents.
Key Responsibilities

Job Overview
The Family Medicine Residency Program Coordinator (PC) serves as the lead administrative person for the SMC GME Family Medicine Residency Program, spending a minimum of 70% of their time managing the day-to-day operations of the program. The PC assists the Program Director in accreditation efforts, educational programing, and support of residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as liaison and facilitator to foster positive and professional communication between the residents, Program Director, program faculty, other program and participating site staff members, and accrediting agency staff
- Prepare, distribute, and manage/adjust resident schedules, which includes didactic lecture series, grand rounds, calendar of events and department call schedule. This will require close coordination with the Program Coordinators at the CoxHealth FMR.
- Develop and maintain current and accurate Program records and reports, potentially compiled from multiple software sources, in accordance with Program and Sponsoring Institution Policy, and all relevant accreditation standards
- Prepare for, organize, and coordinate participant schedules for all Program events and meetings; including but not limited to, candidate interviews, resident orientation and welcome, program committees, site visits, didactics, annual in-training examinations, etc.
- Coordinate with Program Director to ensure all steps required for ongoing Program recertification are completed in a timely manner
- Complete initial screen of Program applicants for eligibility and create applicant packets for review that conform to Institutional practices designed to reduced bias in candidate selection.
- Through participation in the GMEC and other appropriate avenues, monitor all Program practices to ensure their alignment with all Program and Sponsoring Institution Policies, and all relevant accreditation standards
- Ensure all required agreements with Program participating sites are in place, current, and accurate; including but not limited to, Program Letters of Agreement and Affiliation Agreements
- Ensure Program information is current and accurate in all relevant third-party online systems; including but not limited to, ACGME Accreditation Data System (ADS), ERAS, NRMP, etc.
- Coordinate annual renewal of all licenses for residents. Monitor federal visa compliance for those residents on a J1 or H1b visas in the program. Coordinate the annual renewal of these visas.
- All other duties as assigned

- Earned Associates Degree from a higher education institution recognized by an institutional accreditor in a related field required
- 3 years’ experience in an academic medical environment and/or residency program
