What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Foreman position at ALPHIA?
We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician or 4th Year Apprentice Electrician. The ideal candidate will have experience with Industrial/commercial installations and knowledge of electrical codes, permits, and applications. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to work cooperatively with other members of the team. We are currently seeking an electrician who has a commitment to safety, can complete projects in a timely manner, and has an eye for detail when it comes to documentation.
Essential Tasks:
- Must have at least a Journeyman Electrician License.
- Willing to consider 4th year apprentice that has required skill sets.
- Able to install all electrical parts and controls according to code.
- Able to troubleshoot and repair 120 VAC to 480 VAC power.
- Able to troubleshoot and repair low voltage and control wiring.
- Good understanding of machine center controls/electrical systems.
- Basic understanding of PLC’s.
- Able to travel to other pet food facilities throughout the U.S. (Up to 50% Travel)
- Layout and complete complex projects to include:
Conduit layout
Wire sizing
Control wiring
MCC & motor sizing
Work Environment:
- Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices, including appropriate safety equipment apply. Job will generally be performed in a manufacturing environment.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to sit for prolonged periods of time, climb stairs, climb ladders, and walk plant floors that could exceed one mile of travel per day.
- The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, computer equipment and peripherals; and bending, reaching, and crouching.
- Must have command of all five senses, sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. These vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to shift in focus from computer screens to close forms.
- Physical: Must have the ability to lift 20 pounds with regularity.
- Must be able to understand and follow work instructions in English.
Preferences:
- State Journeyman license.
- Previous experience in an industrial environment strongly preferred.
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience with electrical project planning.
