About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Onsite Technical Coordinator and Architect to lead and manage customer engagements for strategic projects like Big Data Engineering and API Integration. This role requires an experienced professional who can work directly with our U.S.-based customers, recruit and onboard technical resources, coordinate offshore operations, oversee quality control, and ensure smooth project execution.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Big Data, API Integration, Cloud Platforms (AWS), and Agile methodologies, with proven experience in customer-facing roles, leadership, and offshore team coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary onsite liaison between customer leadership and offshore teams.
- Work closely with customer technical and business leaders to align project goals and priorities.
- Provide regular updates and reporting on project status, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Ensure high-quality deliverables, compliance, and adherence to SLAs.
Technical Leadership & Architecture
- Architect and oversee Big Data and API integration solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Guide the design, implementation, and deployment of big data pipelines, analytics platforms, and API-driven architectures.
- Work with cross-functional teams (Data Engineers, API Developers, Cloud Architects) to develop best-in-class solutions.
- Ensure seamless integration across distributed systems, data lakes, and microservices architectures.
Recruitment & Team Management
- Identify and recruit high-caliber engineers to support project needs.
- Onboard and mentor new hires, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and company culture.
- Foster a collaborative work environment between onsite and offshore teams.
Offshore Coordination & Operations Management
- Act as a bridge between onsite and offshore teams, ensuring seamless collaboration.
- Drive operational excellence, optimize processes, and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Establish and enforce best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance measures.
- Ensure offshore teams meet deadlines, maintain high productivity, and resolve blockers proactively.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10 years of experience in Big Data Engineering, API Integration, Cloud Platforms (AWS), and Team Leadership.
- Strong background in Python, Java, SQL, Apache Spark, Hadoop, API Management (Apigee, AWS API Gateway), and Microservices Architecture.
- Expertise in AWS services: EMR, Glue, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, ECS/EKS, DynamoDB, Aurora RDS, Redshift, Snowflake.
- Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure automation (Terraform, GitLab, Jenkins, CloudFormation).
- Strong understanding of authentication/authorization (OAuth, SAML, JWT), API security, and data governance best practices.
- Experience in data engineering, ETL workflows, and analytics platforms (Hive, Impala, ElasticSearch, Kibana, Tableau, Airflow, Control-M).
- Hands-on experience in high-traffic, distributed systems with performance tuning and scalability optimization.
- Prior experience working in telecommunications, wireless networks, or a large-scale data/analytics environment is a strong plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing offshore development teams and working in a global delivery model.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills with the ability to handle escalations and drive resolutions.
- Agile methodology experience with the ability to manage sprints, backlog grooming, and stakeholder expectations.
- Experience with service orchestration, messaging (Kafka, SQS, SNS), and API rate limiting/quota management.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze system gaps and develop strategic roadmaps.
