Job purpose
Alpine Air is currently seeking a Maintenance Base Manager to be located at our Salt Lake City, UT maintenance hangar. The Base Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the aircraft maintenance operations in the base including the hiring, training and scheduling of the mechanics; setting aircraft maintenance priorities; ensuring safe and efficient aircraft maintenance; and any other duties as assigned.
Duties and responsibilities
The selected applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties:
- Oversee the day-to-day maintenance operations of the base
- Prioritize and schedule work assignments for the mechanic team
- Ensure all aircraft maintenance and repairs are performed safely, efficiently and in accordance with the applicable guidance.
- Proactively ensure the necessary resources are/will be available to adequately and timely maintain assigned aircraft
- Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with FAA regulations, manufacturers' specifications and company policy
- Communicate routinely and effectively with all team members and necessary to ensure coordination both internally and externally
- Stay proficient with all guidance and ensure that maintenance performed in the base Read maintenance manuals, instructions and safety information to properly identify and locate components on the aircraft and accurately implement instructions listed in maintenance manuals
- Ensure that tools, equipment, parts and other supplies are properly calibrated and in working condition in accordance with safety and operating standards
- Manage and oversee accurate completion of required documentation, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
- Be knowledgeable of FAA Regulations, the Company’s General Maintenance Manual, OpsSpecs, and other materials pertinent to the maintenance operation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- Airframe & Powerplant License
- Five years general aviation maintenance experience
- Excellent proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Word (expert level)
- 1-year supervisory experience with demonstrable strong leadership skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to anticipate issues and react accordingly to deliver high quality results
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to type 50 WPM
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High school diploma required; BS/BA in administration or relevant field will be preferred
Working conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
This position is a Full-Time position, with competitive compensation of benefits. Paid Time Off, eight paid holidays per year, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and 401k with matching contribution are available immediately upon employment.
