About us
Alpine Apothecary is a full service pharmacy with all the amenities of a traditional pharmacy and the added benefit of our compounding lab! We have a significant over the counter section that we help people navigate through one on one and offer InBody composition scans and wellness coaching. We work to integrate safe natural medication options with our traditional pharmacy services for both human and animals! We are an independently owned family pharmacy that is located in Whitefish, Montana.
We are looking for a dependable Pharmacy Technician to join our team. You will undertake tasks under the direction of a pharmacist to provide excellent customer service and ensure the pharmacy runs smoothly. As a pharmacy technician at our store you must be detail-oriented, proactive solving problems, very reliable in attendance and consistent performance. You must possess excellent communication skills as well as aptitude in using computers, typing and ability to embrace change when necessary. This position will include eventualy cross train in our compounding lab so a high level understanding of math is required and a super attention to detail and procedures is needed.
Other healthcare related fields and customer service industries are encouraged to apply. A large portion of the job is the customer interaction and positive attitude. We are willing to train the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and answer questions and offer alternatives if needed
- Receive prescriptions and check their validity
- Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate
- Verify mathematical calculations of days supply and liquid medications.
- Select the appropriate product and ensure it is labeled according to our standard and the board of pharmacy requirements.
- Sort, stock, label medication and monitor inventory
- Light housekeeping to keep the pharmacy orderly and tidy
- Undertake administrative tasks (e.g.record-keeping) as assigned
- Comply with all security measures and quality standards
Skills
- Proven experience as pharmacy technician or other related health or customer service field
- Experience with an our computer system, Pioneer, is a plus
- Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement or ability to learn quickly
- Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology or ability to learn quickly
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Outstanding organizational skills without procrastination
- Ability to work independently and think critically
- Reliable with a keen eye for detail
- Certified Pharmacy technician in the State of Montana, or ability to obtain licensure (over the age of 18, no felonies, no substance use disorders)
Schedule
- Shift to fill Monday - Friday 9:30-6pm (half hour lunch) and every other Saturday 9-1pm
- Off every evening by 6pm, no late nights!
- Shifts are 8 hours on the weekdays and rotating Saturdays
- Weekend work is a quick 4 hour Saturday shift, leaving most of your day still open to recreate in Montana!
- Closed on Sundays!
- Closed on Major Holidays!
