Job Summary
The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to recipes and specifications, ensuring quality and consistency in every dish. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepares and cooks menu items, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts, according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Sets up and stocks workstations with all necessary ingredients and cooking equipment.
- Collaborates with kitchen team members to ensure timely and efficient food preparation and service.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including equipment maintenance, sanitation, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Monitors food quality and presentation to ensure that all dishes meet the restaurant's standards of excellence.
- Assists with inventory management, including receiving deliveries, rotating stock, and minimizing waste.
- Always follows proper food handling procedures and safety protocols.
- Adheres to portion control guidelines and minimize food costs while maximizing quality and consistency.
- Handles guest inquiries, special requests, and dietary restrictions with professionalism and accommodation.
- Upholds J. Pace & Son's standards of hospitality and professionalism at all times.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physical stamina and endurance to stand, walk, and perform culinary tasks for extended periods.
Education and Experience:
- Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar culinary role preferred.
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognized culinary institution is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the kitchen and restaurant for extended periods.
- Capacity to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, such as crates of produce or bags of flour.
- Manual dexterity to handle kitchen tools, knives, and other equipment with precision and skill.
- Stamina to work in a fast-paced environment and handle the physical demands of cooking and food preparation.
- Agility to navigate through crowded or tight spaces in the kitchen.
- Visual acuity and hearing ability to communicate with kitchen staff and other team members effectively.
- Flexibility to bend, stoop, reach, and perform other physical movements as necessary to perform culinary tasks and supervise kitchen operations.
