Position Overview:
This is a Contract-to-Hire position. We are seeking a mid-career information security professional to join our team as a contract-based Virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) and Project Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients. This role requires knowledge of technology and cybersecurity, along with the capability to escalate complex issues to our internal team when necessary. Additionally, the vCISO will manage projects and deliverables, coordinating consultants' actions to ensure timely and high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert cybersecurity guidance and support.
- Follow established processes for creating security program deliverables on time, and with an appropriate level of technical detail.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and security audits.
- Manage and oversee cybersecurity projects, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with clients and internal consultants and teams to address complex cybersecurity issues.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, threats, and best practices.
- Provide regular reports and updates to clients on their cybersecurity posture.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in an architecture or decision-making role.
- Strong project management skills, with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on professional client interactions.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, PMP) are desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field is desirable.
