Compensation:
Starting at $90-120/day (Based on education level/teacher certification).
A Day in the Life of a Substitute Teacher:
- Flexible Shifts: Work Monday through Friday, with options for full or half-day shifts (7 AM - 12 PM / 12 PM - 4 PM).
- Lesson Plan Implementation: Follow lesson plans provided by the absent teacher to ensure a smooth and consistent learning experience for students.
- Classroom Management: Create a positive, engaging classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and minimizes distractions.
- Adapt to Students' Needs: Modify teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Supervision: Oversee students both inside and outside the classroom, including hallways, playgrounds, and cafeterias.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Education: At least an associate degree or 60 college hours (required). A bachelor’s degree or teaching certification is preferred but not required.
- Experience: Previous substitute teaching experience is a plus, but not necessary.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written English communication, along with excellent interpersonal skills to connect with students, parents, and staff.
- Leadership & Instruction: Ability to lead and instruct students across elementary, middle, and high school levels, with a general knowledge of multiple subjects.
- Flexibility & Critical Thinking: Adapt to various classroom settings and make the most of each opportunity.
- Student Safety: Ensure a safe, respectful learning environment for all students at all times.
