Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a Positive Learning Environment: Follow the lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to engage students and maintain a productive classroom environment.
- Adapt & Lead: Be adaptable and creative in adjusting your teaching strategies to meet the needs of all students, while managing classroom behavior.
- Supervise & Support Students: Ensure students' safety and well-being both inside and outside the classroom, including during recess and lunchtime.
- Collaborate for Success: For long-term assignments, work closely with department heads to develop and implement lesson plans that align with the regular teacher's curriculum.
- Maintain a Safe, Respectful Classroom: Ensure a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment for all students.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education Requirements: At least an Associate’s degree or 60 college credit hours. While a Bachelor's degree or teaching certification is preferred, it is not a requirement.
- Experience: Prior substitute teaching experience is a bonus but not necessary. We welcome applicants eager to start their teaching journey!
- Skills & Traits: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking abilities, and a genuine enthusiasm for working with children.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to various classroom environments and handle diverse student needs effectively.
- Commitment to Safety: You’ll be responsible for ensuring a safe and positive experience for students at all times.
