A Day in the Life of a Substitute Teacher:
- Flexibility in Your Schedule: Choose from full or half-day shifts (7 AM – 12 PM, 12 PM – 5 PM).
- Engage and Inspire Students: Follow lesson plans provided by the absent teacher to create a smooth and engaging learning experience.
- Classroom Management: Foster a positive environment by encouraging student participation and maintaining focus.
- Adapt and Support: Tailor your teaching to meet the diverse needs of students, providing individual support where needed.
- Supervision & Safety: Oversee students both in the classroom and in common areas like the halls, playground, and cafeteria.
- Long-term Opportunities: For long-term roles, work closely with department heads to create lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: An Associate Degree or 60 College hours required (Bachelor’s degree or teaching certification is preferred, but not mandatory).
- Experience: Prior substitute teaching experience is a plus, but not required.
- Skills: Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to connect with students, parents, and administrators.
- Flexibility: Adapt your teaching style to fit the needs of each class and keep students engaged.
