Compensation: Earn $90-$120 per day, based on your education and teacher certification.
What’s a Typical Day Like as a Substitute Teacher?
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with shifts from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Half-day shifts are available from 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM - 4:30 PM.
Lesson Delivery: Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher, ensuring a seamless learning experience for students.
Classroom Management: Foster engagement, minimize disruptions, and create a positive, productive learning environment.
Adaptability: Adjust your teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students and help them succeed.
Supervision: Oversee students both inside and outside the classroom, including hallways, lunch periods, and playgrounds.
Long-Term Assignments: For long-term substitute roles, collaborate with department heads to create lesson plans that align with the regular teacher’s curriculum.
Qualifications We’re Seeking:
Required: Associate degree or at least 60 college credit hours.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree or teaching certification.
Experience: Previous substitute teaching experience is helpful but not required. We welcome applicants eager to start their teaching journey!
Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Leadership: Ability to effectively guide and manage students in middle and high school environments.
Knowledge: General understanding of multiple subjects and the ability to follow and implement lesson plans.
Flexibility: Critical thinking skills and the ability to adapt to different classroom dynamics.
