Substitute Teacher Compensation: Earn $90-$120 per day, based on your education level and teacher certification.
A Day in the Life of a Substitute Teacher:
Flexibility: Work Monday through Friday with a variety of scheduling options. Full-day shifts (7 AM - 5 PM) and half-day shifts (7 AM - 12 PM or 12 PM - 5 PM) are available.
Lesson Delivery: Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to create a consistent and engaging learning experience.
Classroom Management: Promote student participation, minimize distractions, and maintain a positive, productive classroom environment.
Adaptability: Adjust teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring engagement and support for all.
Supervision: Monitor students inside and outside the classroom, including hallways, playgrounds, and cafeterias.
Long-Term Assignments: For long-term substitute roles, collaborate with department heads to develop lesson plans and assignments that align with the regular teacher’s curriculum.
What We’re Looking For:
Education Requirements: An Associate's degree or at least 60 college credit hours (required).
Preferred but Not Required: A Bachelor's degree or teaching certification.
Experience: Previous substitute teaching experience is helpful but not required. We welcome those eager to start their teaching journey!
Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and a positive, friendly attitude when working with students, parents, and staff.
Leadership: Ability to manage classrooms of elementary, middle, and high school students with confidence.
Knowledge: General understanding of various subjects and the ability to implement lesson plans as directed or consult with school administrators when necessary.
Flexibility & Critical Thinking: Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom settings and address student needs effectively.
Student Safety: Commitment to ensuring a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom environment at all times, following protocols and procedures set by the absent teacher.
