Director of Outpatient Services

Alpine Psychiatry
Devon, PA Full Time
POSTED ON 4/24/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 6/23/2025

Position Summary

The Director of Outpatient Services is a dynamic leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily operations, clinical quality, and strategic growth of Alpine Psychiatry’s outpatient services. This individual ensures excellence in care delivery, regulatory compliance, staff development, and operational efficiency across all outpatient programs, including medication management, psychotherapy, and interventional psychiatry. Alpine Psychiatry is a clinician-owned practice that operates within a network of outpatient mental health and psychiatry clinics under shared ownership and collaborative leadership. Alpine Psychiatry has several satellite offices in PA and NJ with our primary location in King of Prussia, PA with plans for expansion. The Director would have the flexibility to work remotely and/or in the office with a hybrid schedule.

A key focus of this role is the development and expansion of Alpine’s psychotherapy program, with responsibility for recruiting top clinical talent, building specialized therapy tracks (e.g., trauma, OCD, couples), and implementing systems that support high-quality, sustainable, and accessible therapy services.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Oversight

Provide direct supervision and consultation to outpatient clinical and administrative staff, including therapists, psychiatric providers, care coordinators, and intake specialists.

Foster a positive and high-performing team culture focused on accountability, professional development, and patient-centered care.

Lead and support the clinical therapy team with regular case consultations, supervision structures, and professional growth pathways.

Clinical Engagement Expectation

In addition to leadership and operational responsibilities, the Director of Outpatient Services will maintain a small clinical caseload of approximately 10–12 clients per week. This allows the Director to stay connected to the patient experience, support high-quality care delivery, and model clinical excellence for the therapy team.

This caseload will be thoughtfully structured to align with the Director’s areas of specialty, while allowing adequate time for supervisory, strategic, and administrative duties.

Therapy Program Growth & Innovation

Design and implement strategies to expand Alpine’s therapy program, including identifying new service lines (e.g., group therapy, intensive outpatient tracks, virtual specialty programs).

Recruit, onboard, and retain highly skilled therapists who align with Alpine’s integrative model and clinical values.

Develop workflows, outcome tracking, and quality assurance systems to ensure clinical excellence in therapy delivery.

Collaborate with marketing and outreach teams to raise awareness of therapy services and promote patient acquisition and retention.

Program Operations

Oversee scheduling, patient flow, caseload distribution, and quality assurance across all outpatient services.

Monitor performance metrics and drive initiatives to improve efficiency and increase patient engagement.

Partner with billing, intake, and administrative teams to streamline operations and support revenue cycle integrity.

Clinical Compliance & Quality

Ensure all outpatient services meet clinical, ethical, and legal standards, including HIPAA, state licensing, and accreditation guidelines.

Lead utilization review processes and ensure appropriate documentation practices.

Participate in hiring, onboarding, and credentialing of outpatient staff.

Patient Experience & Engagement

Maintain high standards for patient satisfaction and engagement through feedback initiatives and service innovation.

Serve as a point of escalation for complex patient needs and collaborate with medical leadership for clinical risk management.

Strategic & Financial Management

Support the development and tracking of outpatient budgets and productivity targets.

Identify opportunities for growth, partnerships, and innovation in alignment with Alpine Psychiatry’s mission.

Strong understanding of outpatient mental health operations, compliance standards, and managed care environments.
