What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Control Specialist position at Alpine Research Optics?
Responsible for working with the Production Control Coordinator to coordinate all aspects of a manufacturing production process to ensure timely and efficient production of goods, by assisting in managing schedules, monitoring inventory levels, operating the shipping & receiving department, identifying potential issues, and collaborating with different departments to maintain production targets.
Key responsibilities:
- Tracking work orders to ensure production tasks are assigned and completed on time.
- Monitoring raw material inventory levels, managing stock replenishment, and minimizing stock outs.
- Working with Production Control Coordinator on tracking production progress against the schedule.
- Assist the Production Control Coordinator with inventory control tasks such as inventory of raw material, mechanicals, optical fab supplies, coat target and other materials as production requires.
- Own the gathering of and assembly of all documentation for all shipments.
- With a sense of urgency ensure all shipments leave the factory using designated carriers.
- Work proactively with internal teams and shipping carriers to receive material into the factory.
- Collaborating with different departments like engineering, maintenance, and quality assurance to ensure smooth production flow.
Required skills
- Understanding of planning and execution of production schedules to meet deadlines.
- Understands how to work as a team to identify and resolve production issues quickly and efficiently.
- Clear and proactive communication with production teams, management, and other departments.
Technical knowledge:
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and quality control procedures.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, production planning software, and data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with ITAR and EAR shipping requirements.
Work environment:
- Typically based in a manufacturing facility, working closely with production teams on the shop floor.
- May require some extended hours depending on production demand.
