The reading specialist will
- meet DAILY with groups of 3-4 students in 1st and 2nd grade according to school needs and district instruction by implementing a systematic intervention to deliver effective and explicit instruction in targeted skills and strategies. provide Tier III intervention
- in literacy for those students who may not be responding to Tier II intervention.
The reading specialist will
- maintain Acadience Mentor training in order to support school teams and administration in accessing student data and understanding testing procedures.
- train and support aides and teachers in administering Acadience Progress Monitoring and determining and adjusting Pathways of Progress.
The reading specialist will
- maintain a high level of professionalism while working with students, parents, teachers and administration.
- attend weekly professional development at the district office and seek out coaching opportunities.
