Step into a Leadership Role as a Charge Nurse!
Are you an experienced practical nurse ready to elevate your impact? As a Charge Nurse, you'll be at the forefront of patient care, using your expert clinical knowledge to lead and collaborate with a dynamic multidisciplinary team. You'll work closely with leadership to plan, direct, and evaluate care for individuals served and their families, ensuring a personalized and continuous approach to healing. Your role will be crucial in delivering high-quality, therapeutic care while driving innovation and compassion in every aspect of our services.
Key Responsibilities
Multidisciplinary CollaborationWork closely with medical staff, clinical teams, nursing, and leadership to address complex issues and improve care outcomes.
Coordination of Admissions, Transfers, and DischargesOversee patient flow with other charge nurses, ensuring workload distribution and assigning tasks based on team members' skills.
Support Patient Self-DeterminationEmpower individuals served by involving them and their families in care decisions and preparing them for self-care post-discharge.
Quality Assurance and Performance ImprovementLead quality assurance initiatives and participate in department-wide performance improvement activities to enhance care quality.
Effective Communication and Infection ControlMaintain clear, professional communication with staff, patients, and visitors while ensuring adherence to infection control protocols.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Required: Licensed Vocational (LVN) or Psychiatric Technician (LPT) degree from an accredited school of nursing.
Experience:
- Required: Two (2) years of experience as an LVN/LPT in long term care, med/surg or inpatient psychiatry.
- Preferred: Two (2) years of increasingly responsible leadership experience to include charge, lead or supervisory responsibilities.
Licenses:
- Required: Current, unrestricted LVN or LPT license in state of employment.
