How you make a difference
The Environmental Services Worker plays a vital role in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for both individuals served and staff. You’ll be responsible for maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the facility, helping to foster a therapeutic space that supports the well-being and recovery of everyone. Your work directly contributes to creating a positive and healing environment for all.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Cleanliness and Hygiene: Maintain cleanliness by washing, cleaning, and replacing equipment and furnishings regularly across various areas of the facility.
Hazard Monitoring and Safety: Monitor for spills, hazards, and safety risks, addressing them promptly, especially in individuals served areas.
Waste and Hazardous Material Management: Manage waste collection and safely handle hazardous materials, ensuring compliance with infection control policies.
Training and Safety Protocols: Provide training on cleaning agent usage and ensure compliance with safety protocols to maintain a safe environment.
Housekeeping Supplies and Equipment: Organize and maintain environmental services equipment and supply rooms, ensuring supplies are stocked and chemicals are securely stored.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Required: Three (3) months' experience in general housekeeping duties.
- Preferred: Experience in healthcare environment.
