Role Overview
The Youth Learning and Development Professional will be responsible for supporting the educational and social development of children in a preschool setting. This role will involve working closely with the preschool director and site principal to develop and implement curriculum, and providing guidance and support to children as needed.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Support the educational and social development of children in a preschool setting, by developing and implementing curriculum and providing guidance and support as needed.
2. Work closely with the preschool director and site principal to develop and implement curriculum, and provide input on program changes to enhance quality.
3. Supervise activities of children in the classroom, play area, and grounds.
4. Assist with food preparation and the serving of lunches and snacks.
5. Communicate the preschool program to parents.
6. Comply and prepare data for statistical and operational reports, including basic bookkeeping and filing.
7. Maintain a safe/clean classroom environment.
8. Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
9. Operate audio visual equipment as necessary.
10. Provide assessments, complete progress reports, and conferences with parents.
Requirements:
• Six months experience working in a Child Care Center - minimum 3 hours per day for 50 days in 6 months.
• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
• Completion of twelve (12) core semester units: Child Development, Child, Family & Community, Curriculum (age appropriate).
• License, Certificate, Other: Pediatric CPR and Pediatric First Aid Certificate required.
