Job Title: Bartender
Reports to: Bar Manager
Job Class: Non-exempt
Position Summary:
Facilitate the flow of beverage stock from inventory to the bar, and ultimately to the guest. Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to company and guest specifications. Help guests choose menu items, take their orders, and make guests feel taken care of during their visit. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Adhere to safe food and beverage serving practices as stated by state and company practices.
- Proper handling of payments of goods, cash banks, and petty cash.
- Sell our product and services, plus upsell, when possible, in a non-aggressive manner.
- Comprehensive knowledge of all menus, products, cocktail builds, and wines available.
- Help communicate counts and/or 86’d items.
- Manage the integrity of beverages served and properly account for those that have expired.
- Communicate across departments for bar needs depleted from inventory.
- Maintain proper pars for service.
- Take ownership of the station during a shift from furniture, fixtures, and service items to the entirety of your guest life cycle.
- Knowledge of daily updates and VIP needs.
- Follow proper pouring and product usages practices (i.e. voids, comps, spills).
- Attend Tastings, meetings, staff educational events, and prep shifts as well.
- Provide service in the utmost hospitable manner.
