About the role
This position is a client-facing role, identifying, and leveraging market opportunities in your region to bolster ALS’s business. You will provide a strong customer service experience by engaging in client interactions, addressing inquiries, overseeing tours, and advocating for client needs within ALS. This role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to ensure client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Align with the BD Manager and Client Services team to identify and capitalize on business opportunities to drive growth and increase market share.
- Collaborate with the in-house Customer Service (CS) team to support sales closure and ensure client satisfaction.
- Alone, or together with other ALS Geochemistry representatives, participate at regional trade shows, conferences, and Geological Society meetings.
- Meet with prospective clients, and visit client sites to better understand client needs and provide solutions.
- Oversee and facilitate client tours.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients, client leads and engaged clients.
- Engage with potential new clients and determine their program requirements, challenges, and concerns.
- Provide a superior client experience by providing information on analytical methods, quality control, turnaround times, and proactively resolving questions and concerns.
- Ensure proactive, positive and responsive communications are maintained with clients at all times.
- Maintain regular schedules for client communication including courtesy calls, when new work is received, and if there are delays in work completion.
- Together with the Client Services team complete annual quotation renewals, new work bids, and track client workflow.
- Engage mine clients on Mine Processing Testing Services (MPTS) discussions, and together with the MPTS team in, prepare proposal, visit clients, and participate involved with the Capital Expense Proposals (CEP’s).
- Promote the new ALS methods and help in securing samples for the new methods.
- Other duties as assigned by the US Director and/or the North American BD Manager.
About you
- University education in sciences (geology, metallurgy and/or chemistry preferred) is an asset.
- Experience working with analytical methods, and quality control, preferably in geochemistry.
- 5-year experience in client service, project management or business development role an asset.
- Experience in geoscience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s record
- Must be able to travel periodically throughout the year.
- Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities.
