Job Summary :

The Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager is responsible for managing the company's end-to-end sourcing operations in excess of $40 million in direct expenditure, and future potential for oversight of indirect expenditure. The successful candidate will be able to appraise and improve our sourcing activities by analyzing the company's spending, supplying partnerships and new possibilities.

Essential Functions :

Build value-driven vendor partnerships with a focus on risk management, reliability, and cost-effectiveness that support overall organizational strategies.

Manage the company's supply portfolio ensuring transparency of spending.

Generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies to ensure a reliable supply of materials.

Analyze and calculate costs of procurement and suggest methods to decrease expenditure.

Invent supplier negotiation strategies and secure profitable deals.

Optimize sourcing procedures to attain maximum efficiency.

Coordinate with internal stakeholders to define material, quality, and service requirements and standards, and to guarantee agreement on terms and processes.

Develops vendor partnerships, tracks KPI's and goals to measure and evaluate vendor performance.

Research and anticipate shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers.

Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.

Estimate risks and apply risk minimizing techniques.

Discover and partner with trustworthy vendors and suppliers.

Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.

Study market intelligence and conduct frequent market analysis and benchmarking to anticipate price fluctuations, tariffs, customs, tax, and other freight expenses.

Streamline the company's product offering while enabling growth and market expansion with proper Item Master Management oversight and administration.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

Direct reports are a Supply Chain Specialist, an Item Master Analyst (open-new position), and an importation & logistics 3 party specialist (contractor).

Oversee daily workflow and performance of supply chain teams.

Recruit, hire, and develop team members through regular coaching and performance assessments.

Qualifications :

Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management and relevant software.

Understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement.

Creates efficiencies and controls costs.

Strong project management and leadership skills.

Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships while operating with the highest integrity.

Comfortable with figures and in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data.

Solid judgement with ability to make good decisions.

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Typical Physical Activity :

Sitting, grasping, driving, stooping, lifting to 25 lbs., standing, walking, writing, speaking, and hearing.

Must perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation efficiently and accurately, and without causing significant safety threat to self or others.

Typical Environmental Conditions :

Indoor office environment.

Travel Requirements :

The Salt Lake City General Office is the preferred office location but open to remote depending upon candidate and circumstances. A remote office location requires strong self-drive and accountability.

Occasional travel is required for supplier interactions, branch visit(s), and general meetings; cumulatively no more than 25-30 days per year. Note : if the office location is not in Salt Lake City, travel could be slightly higher.

Education :

Bachelor of Science degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or another industry-related field desired.

Five years' managerial and supply chain management experience preferred.

Industry-related experience is a plus but not essential.
