Automation V&V Designer Intern (Summer 2025)

Alstom is looking for a Automation V&V Designer Intern that will support the development and deployment of an automated testing environment that is capable of being configured across any new or existing Alstom project. Interns will be expected to support Automated Lab setup, support project specific configurations, develop project specific automation test scripts and support execution of automated test scripts.

The Intern will work with the V&V Test team involved in the Seattle-Tacoma Airport project, ensuring quality targets and repeatable test performance. Define the automated V&V strategy, perform System Verification, involved in V&V execution, delivering as per QCD (Quality, Cost and Delivery) commitments. Identify and implement best V&V practices and standardize their implementation across the projects. Work with the V&V Lead and help with continuous team improvement, assess team competencies and gaps, and prepare a training plan for the team.

Job Description:

• Take part in major automation developments by proving that the design is fit for its intended use, through implementation and execution of Verification, Integration and Test activities, fitting the targets in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery
• Detail and perform all the in-house activities in the scope of the automated V&V team, and interface with experts delegated in other departments. Cooperate tightly with the project V&V team to ensure seamless integration and alignment between automated testing and manual testing activities and results. Interface with design teams to share and detail the results of V&V activities
• Agree with the V&V Manager on strategy, scheduling, and share progress, results and issues during execution
  
  

Key accountabilities:

• Develop automation test scripts using Robot Framework (python) that support pre-defined test case documents
• Contribute to the enhancement of test case documentation to support both automated and manual testing
• Adhere to automation test plans and schedules for in-house activities and work directly with the V&V managers to maintain those V&V plans and activities
• Perform and report on allocated verification and automated test activities
• Specify, develop, setup and configure project specific automation lab environments
• Represent Alstom in front of customers or partners, for instance to provide overview of test progress, issues, risks and opportunities
• Provide data to maintain applicable KPIs and provide valuable feedback for continuous improvement.
• Manage configuration and change management cycle related with automated V&V activities
  
  

Required Profile:

• Enrolled in a 4-year program and have completed at least 2 years of a major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Project Management or related field(s).
  
  

Preferred Experience :

• Experience with V&V is helpful, but not required.
• Experience with coding in Python
