The Electronic Technician is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance and repair on the
systems that provide communications, audio and video recordings, and fare collection systems.
Hourly rate: $31.98
Duties:
o Performs in-depth troubleshooting and repair on electrical/electronic equipment.
o Interprets maintenance manuals, blueprints, schematics and drawings, and prepares drawings or schematics to
communicate with others in performance of work.
o Works variable hours and shifts.
o Account for all time and materials used in completing tasks, sign-off on work as completed according to
standard.
o Handles emergencies and failures in accordance with established procedures.
o Adheres to all company policies, procedures and safety rules
o Maintain all position qualifications and certification requirements.
o Safety Sensitive position subject to random alcohol and drug testing.
Knowledge and Experience:
o Graduation from High School or equivalent. Specialized technical training in either Electrical or Electronics
to the technician level from a recognized institution with computer experience. Five years experience in
maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of communication, electrical and electronic systems.
o 10 year background check for NYNJPA SIDA Badge
Physical Requirements:
o Must be physically capable to stand and walk for periods up to 2 hours, lift and carry 50 lbs.
o Must be physically capable of passing DOT physical that includes alcohol & drug testing.
