What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations and Maintenance Technician position at Alstom?
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining AirTrain cars, station doors, wayside systems, and related equipment in a 24 / 7 operation. This role requires expertise in electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on train cars, wayside, and station systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic components.
Use test equipment, hand tools, and diagnostic aides to identify faults.
Install and repair wiring assemblies.
Maintain documentation and follow established procedures.
Participate in safety training and continuous improvement programs.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
2 years of experience in mechanical and / or electrical work (formal education may substitute).
Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
Ability to read schematics, use hand tools, and operate test equipment.
Valid Class C Driver’s License.
Ability to lift / move up to 50 lbs.
Preferred :
Associate degree or vocational certification in a related field.
Experience with PLCs, HVAC systems, and AC / DC power.
Ability to communicate in multiple languages.
